    Hi,

    Using FEPM Pro.

I have created a group including myself as admin. I have sent a single message to this group. The message has been read but nobody answered. I wanted to add more information, so I tried to answer this message. But I get an error message when accessing the message page : I’m not allowed to answer this message.

Why ? I never had similar problems when sending messages to other groups or to individuals. However, this is the first time I’m trying to answer to my own message sent to a group before anyone else has answered.

    Thanks in advance.

May be any of the recipients blocked you.
You can add yourself in whitelist group in Front End PM PRO > Settings > Security to bypass block

    Hi Shamim,

    > You can add yourself in whitelist group

I did this already. No effect. I systematically get the error message when opening the message page.

The problem suddenly appeared on another thread where I had already posted three time. Now, I can’t post any new message.See attached screen capture. The error message is in french and means : “You have not the permission to send an answer to this message”.

This new problem also appeared in a thread posted to a group.

    Hi again,

If you tell me where I should look in the database in order to check whether I have been locked, there’s no problem. I’m a former system engineer, you can get technical.

Problem solved by checking the following option in the Security tab :

“Can user answer messages deleted by another user ?” (approximate translation from french).

I was not aware of any message deletion since there was only one message in the thread : mine.

Note that I had deleted messages in other threads but not in this one (since it only contained my initial post).

Thank you. It seems your message (only one) deleted by another recipient of that message.

    Hi Shamim,

    >> It seems your message (only one) deleted by another recipient of that message.

This raises a question about the meaning of the option “Can user reply to messages deleted by other user”. Does this mean that if this option is not enabled, once one of the recipients in the group has deleted the message for himself, it’s no longer possible for other recipients in the group and for the message author himself to answer this message ? This is apparently what happened.to me.

If the answer is yes, I don’t see the purpose of this option. In which case is this behavior useful ?

Thanks in advance for giving us more explanations about this feature.

    Hi again,
Yes, If one user delete a message other users cannot reply that message anymore if that option is unchecked.
This feature was added in favor of following situation:
If a user delete a message, that message does not get deleted from database, Just hidden from him. Now another user reply that message without knowing that other user already deleted that message and cannot see this thread anymore. Now that user will think that other user got that message but not replying. Thats why we restricted to send message to that thread anymore.

If any admin does not have any issue with this than they can check that option.

This feature was added by user recommendation.
