  Not sure how to word the title, so I apologize for the confusion –
  When I select any option (new message, directory, announcements etc) it removes the page information that I am on, making it impossible to see the menu on the page I am on, making me hit the back button. How can I open the messages but keep it on the same page?

  What is your message page url?
  Did you set your message page in this plugin settings page?
  do you have any query string of hash in url of message page? (eg. &foo=bar or #bar)
